Fa‘ausi Maukegi is a much loved traditional Samoan dessert.

A beautifully baked, dense bread known as fa‘apapa, made with pumpkin (maukegi), is cut into small squares and soaked in a rich, caramelised coconut sauce. Made with just a few simple ingredients, Fa‘ausi Maukegi is truly a labour of love to prepare — and even better when shared.
